Patrick S. Murphy is an associate of the Firm's Financial Institutions Practice group. Patrick concentrates his practice on mergers and acquisitions, general securities, financing transactions, and regulatory and compliance matters.
A native of Libertyville, Illinois, Patrick received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Marquette University and is a certified public accountant. Prior to joining Godfrey & Kahn, he spent six years working in the banking industry and eleven years in public accounting. Patrick received his law degree, magna cum laude, from Marquette University, where he served as an associate editor on the Marquette Law Review. He is co-author of the ABA Bank Compliance journal articles, "The State of Affiliate Transactions under Reg. W" (May/June 2004) and "OFAC in the Age of the USA Patriot Act" (September/October 2003). In addition, he has been a multiple recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award. Patrick is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Wisconsin Institute of Public Accountants, the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Wisconsin, and the Milwaukee Bar Association.
