Barron has been first vice president and chief operating officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta since February 1996 and is a member of the Federal Reserve System’s Conference of First Vice Presidents. He oversees the day-to-day operations and administrative matters of the Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank, including all operating and support functions for financial services activities at the corporate headquarters in Atlanta and at the branch offices in Birmingham, Jacksonville, Miami, Nashville, and New Orleans. He is vice chairman of the Bank’s Management Committee and a member of the Discount Committee. As the second-highest-ranking individual at the Bank, Mr. Barron works closely with the president in developing Bank policies.
