A private real estate developer in a highly publicized dispute; the trial resulted in the dismissal of multimillion-dollar claims pending against the client, as well as a half-million-dollar verdict in the client’s favor and the award of a portion of his attorney fees.The president of a private corporation accused of breach of contract and conversion; the case resulted in a defense verdict on the conversion claim and an award against the client of less than a quarter of the amount sought. A regional homebuilder in litigation with a former subcontractor; the parties reached settlement after presenting the homebuilder’s case. In addition to his trial work, Patrick has guided governmental entities, multinational corporations, developers, builders, builder-vendors, sub-contractors, and individual property owners through all stages of litigation. His experience includes successfully prosecuting what was then the largest public-trustee foreclosure in the history of Garfield County, Colorado, just north of Aspen. Patrick has also litigated environmental disputes involving hazardous waste and air-quality-permitting issues in Colorado and adjoining states.His background also includes representing broker-dealers, investment banking firms, hedge fund managers, registered investment advisors, registered representatives, and individual investors in various litigation matters. Patrick has represented securities clients in matters pending before NASD-DR (now FINRA) and in Colorado state courts, as well as in regulatory matters pending before the Securities and Exchange Commission, the NASD (FINRA), and the State of Colorado Division of Securities.
