O. Patricia Lekanoff-Gregory has served as a director of OC from 1978 to 1979, from 1981 through 1987, from 1988 through 1991, and from 1992 to present. Her current term began in 2004, and expires in 2007. Previously, she has served as OC's Vice President and its Secretary/Treasurer. She is currently the Vice President.
As a member of OC's Board, Patty serves on the Audit and Personnel Committees. Additionally, she is the Secretary/Treasurer of the Edna P. McCurdy Scholarship Foundation, as well as the President of FDOC, Inc., and Vice President of Little Brazil Corporation, both wholly-owned subsidiaries of OC.
Patty owns A.L.E.U.T. Tours, operating in Unalaska, and is also working as the Aleut Culture teacher at Unalaska City School in the Aleut Culture and Language Program. She is an expert at making traditional Unangan bentwood visors and hats, and mentors at Camp Qungaayux^, a culture camp sponsored by the Qawalangin Tribe, Unalaska City School, and the Alaska Systemic Rural Initiative. Patty has served on the Qawalangin Tribal Council (1994 to 2002), the City of Unalaska Parks, Culture and Recreation Advisory Board (1985 to present), the Aleutian/Pribilof Islands Association, Inc. (1997 to present), the Unalaska Historic Preservation Commission (1994 to present) and has worked with the Aleut International Association with the Aleuts from Bering Island in Russia. She has also served previously on the Unalaska Visitors' Alliance, the Unalaska/Port of Dutch Harbor Convention and Visitors' Bureau, Unalaska Senior Citizens, and the Unalaska Aleut Development Corporation. |
