As an associate editor of Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine, Patricia Mertz Esswein writes about housing-market conditions, mortgage financing, and the choices that buyers and sellers must make. She also contributes to the Ahead section of the magazine. In her 22 years with the Kiplinger organization, Pat has worn a variety of hats, including director of special projects and managing editor of Kiplinger Books, for which she developed and edited personal-finance and business titles.
Pat began her career writing, editing and polar-bear swimming (among other things) for Empire Sports magazine, an upstate New York monthly.
Pat earned her undergraduate degree in American studies from Gustavus Adolphus College, in Minnesota, and her master's in magazine journalism from Syracuse University. |
