My first job at Malloy was in the front office answering phones, typing letters, etc. While this line of work didn't actually get "ink underneath my finger-nails" it did put printing in my blood. So, after a year, I jumped at a chance to work in our Planning Department (now Book Engineering), where I knew I would learn all the intricacies of how books are made at Malloy. Two years later, I became a Customer Service Representative primarily serving our customers on the West Coast.I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with publishers and decided from that experience that I wanted to get a little closer to them working in sales. In 1989, I became Malloy's representative for Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. I've had this position ever since and feel fortunate to have developed so many good friendships over the years. My strong interest in people and the publishing industry - to say nothing of how much I love to read - keep me going. |
