Pat Moriarty, the team's vice president of football administration, has been a key part of the franchise since 1994...A longtime member of the Ravens' personnel staff, Moriarty was one of the NFL's original capologists...Moriarty's NFL career began as a rookie free agent running back for the Cleveland Browns in 1979...He scored 2 TDs in his lone NFL season.
The Cleveland native negotiates all of the Ravens' player contracts, oversees salary cap administration, roster management, and the day-to-day operations of the player personnel department. Moriarty is the team's top contract negotiator and main liaison with the NFL Management Council and Players Association...Pat works closely with GM Ozzie Newsome in many areas, including helping to coordinate the football operations budgets.

Since 1996, Pat has negotiated contracts and coordinated the signing of 13 Ravens 1st-round draft choices, as well as numerous free agents...This offseason, Pat signed free agent Pro Bowler DE Trevor Pryce and former NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year RB Mike Anderson, and re-signed RB Jamal Lewis and LB Bart Scott...During the 2005 offseason, Moriarty signed key additions WR Derrick Mason and CB Samari Rolle, both of whom had an immediate impact. In addition, Pat has re-negotiated the contracts of several other key players, including Pro Bowlers TE Todd Heap, LB Ray Lewis and T Jonathan Ogden...Over the course of 13 years, Moriarty has negotiated player contracts totaling over $600 million.
Moriarty is responsible for the management and strategic planning of the Ravens' salary cap...He works closely with Newsome, helping coordinate budgets of the scouting, coaching, equipment, football video, training, and strength and conditioning departments...Moriarty also analyzes draft-day trades during the 2-day NFL selection process.
Moriarty earned a bachelor's degree in industrial management from Georgia Tech, where he was a 3-year starter at RB...He later earned his master's degree in business administration from John Carroll University...He worked for Key Bank in Cleveland in the corporate lending division before joining the Browns' front office in 1994 as the team's director of business operations...When the franchise moved to Baltimore, Moriarty was named the organization's chief financial officer.
A Cleveland native, Moriarty earned All-State honors in both football and track at Benedictine (Cleveland, OH) HS and was inducted into the school's athletic hall of fame in the spring of 2002...After college, Moriarty played for his hometown Cleveland Browns...As a RB, he scored 2 TDs and also played special teams as a rookie free agent in 1979...Pat's brother, Tom, played 5 years in the NFL as a DB, 4 with Atlanta and 1 with Pittsburgh.
Moriarty, who is on the NFL Management Council's Working Club Executive Committee for the 3rd straight year, is working towards his law degree at the University of Baltimore School of Law...He has been a guest speaker at numerous engagements, including Loyola College, University of Maryland Law School, University of Maryland Business School and the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he was a guest lecturer on sports and entertainment law...Pat has also participated in the Ravens' Football 101 series, presenting a discussion on the NFL's salary cap.
He and his wife, Lynn, are the parents of 3 children: Kevin (18), Laura (15) and Katherine (12)...The family lives in Hunt Valley, MD.
