Pamela S. DiCarlantonio is a Managing Director in Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Chicago office. She is a member of MLA’s Partner Practice Group for the Midwest with substantial experience placing partners and associates within top national and regional law firms in Chicago and other cities. Pam’s practice at MLA involves representing partners considering new platforms for their practices and law firms looking to grow through the lateral market. Her clients include Kirkland & Ellis; Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, Jenner & Block; Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg; Vedder Price; Grippo & Elden; Marshall, Gerstein & Borun; Quarles & Brady and numerous other firms in Chicago and cities as far away as Honolulu.
Pam is able to offer her candidates a unique perspective having practiced law in a variety of different law firm environments herself, and having been represented twice in her own career by two highly capable recruiters. A former litigator, Pam began her legal career with Bickel & Brewer, a commercial litigation boutique in Dallas, followed by four years as a litigation associate in Jenner & Block’s Chicago office where she was one of the firm’s highest billing associates, and nearly five years with Sugar, Friedberg & Felsenthal, also in Chicago. As an attorney Pam handled a wide range of litigation matters in state and federal court including commercial, bankruptcy, fraudulent transfer, employment, construction, insurance coverage, probate, class actions, intellectual property and pro bono criminal matters.
A native of Potomac, Maryland, Pam holds a bachelor of science in journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park, magna cum laude, and a law degree from the University of Illinois, cum laude, where she excelled in Moot Court and received various awards and honors for excellence in oral advocacy and legal writing.
Pam has served on the University of Illinois College of Law Recent Alumni Advisory Board, is currently an active member of the Professional Women’s Club of Chicago, and serves on the Development Committee for the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides four-year high school scholarships and educational support to economically disadvantaged Chicago eighth grade students who demonstrate academic potential. Outside of MLA, Pam keeps herself busy with her husband (a fellow attorney) and their two young children. She also enjoys traveling (particularly to Italy, where she and her husband both have large extended families), cooking and enjoying all that Chicago has to offer. |
