Pam Hanebutt is a partner at Eimer Stahl Klevorn & Solberg LLP. She is a general litigator whose experience encompasses a wide variety of disputes. Over the last decade, the principal focus of Pam's practice has been environmental enforcement and litigation matters, including: toxic tort and product liability litigation, Superfund remedial/removal enforcement litigation and natural resources damages claims, Superfund cost-recovery litigation and related contribution litigation, buyer-seller litigation over contaminated properties, and environmental insurance coverage litigation. Pam also has litigated matters involving contract and real property disputes, telecommunications, wrongful termination, and mass torts. Representative cases include:Defending CITGO Petroleum Corporation in multi-district litigation involving the gasoline additive MTBE. Defending a major petrochemical company against toxic tort litigation filed by neighboring residents. Defending a paper company in connection with a possible enforcement action arising out of contaminated river sediments. Defending a utility in a Superfund Contribution action arising out of the cleanup of a former manufactured gas plant site. Representing an engineering firm accused of negligent cleanup of property contaminated with polychlorinated biphenyls. Representing a large manufacturer in a major environmental coverage action involving twenty-two contaminated sites. Pam has also recently prevailed in a pro bono case in Immigration Court, involving a claim for political asylum on behalf of an Ethiopian refugee. She is a 1984 graduate of Tulane Law School, with an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois. |
