Pam Butcher is vice president of Marketing for The Dow Chemical Company. In this role, Butcher is responsible for developing a holistic marketing approach and delivering market-based leadership to support the Company’s business strategies. In addition, she is vice-chair of the Company’s Marketing and Sales Commercial Governance Body, and leads the Marketing efforts as a member of the Company’s Performance Plastics and Chemicals portfolio leadership team. She is also a member of the Market-Facing Steering team for the Company.
Butcher began her career with Dow in 1980 and has held a variety of leadership positions in sales, marketing, customer service, and business management. She was named a business director for Performance Chemicals in 1994. Butcher assumed additional business responsibility and by 1999 was leading a portfolio of Performance businesses. In 2000, she was named business director for Dow’s Chlorinated Organics business. In 2004, Butcher was appointed business vice president of Specialty Chemicals, a $3 billion business portfolio within Dow’s Performance Plastics and Chemicals organization.
She is a distinguished recipient of Dow’s Genesis Award for people excellence, which is the Company’s highest recognition for people leadership. Also an active leader in the chemical industry, Butcher is president of the board of trustees for the Chemical Educational Foundation (CEF).
Butcher holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy and a Master’s of Science Degree from Purdue University. She also is a graduate of the Northwestern University Marketing Executive program and has participated in the Prince of Wales Sustainability Conference and the Asian Master Class on Asian Business and Culture.
