As vice president of sales for the Americas Owen Golden is responsible for the sales of National Instruments products and services throughout North Central and South America. He is also responsible for further establishing the global success of NI in larger test control and design system sales.
Golden joined NI in 1991 as district sales manager for upstate New York. In this position he focused on evangelizing virtual instrumentation and developing key regional accounts including Kodak Xerox and General Motors. After several years Golden expanded his responsibilities as the regional sales manager for New England and Canada. While in this role Golden grew his influence and collaboration both internally with R&D and marketing as well as externally with accounts and partners including key National Instruments Alliance Partners and product partners such as Analog Devices.
In 1999 as national sales manager Golden took on management of sales for the entire United States. As a result of the company’s growing success in system-level sales and the need for deeper account penetration Golden significantly expanded the field sales force both in size and skill.
Golden was promoted to director of Americas sales in 2002. With the additional responsibility for sales in Mexico and South America his focus expanded beyond the United States. Over the past five years Golden has worked across the global sales and marketing management teams to ensure the organization continues to address customer needs as NI products become more critical to their businesses.
Before joining NI Golden was a software engineer for Carrier Corp. and held both application engineering and sales management positions with Keithley Instruments. Golden completed both his bachelor’s and master’s of science degrees in mechanical engineering at the University of Buffalo. |
