Otto Kosgalwies was born in Assling, Germany, in 1956. He graduated in Business and Economics from the Ludwigs-Maximilian University in Munich.
Kosgalwies entered the semiconductor industry twenty four years ago and has spent his entire career in positions of increasing responsibility within companies that have grown into the current STMicroelectronics. During the first eight years, Kosgalwies successfully managed service, quality, and product promotion in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Benelux.
In 1992, Kosgalwies took responsibility of central marketing for European distribution. Three years later, he began to oversee the Company's regional sales and marketing operations. In 1997, he was appointed Managing Director of SGS-THOMSON Microelectronics in Munich. Under his direction, the Company grew to become one of the top three semiconductors suppliers in Central Europe.
At the beginning of 2001, Kosgalwies was promoted to Vice President for Sales & Marketing in Europe and General Manager for Supply Chain Management, where he was responsible at the corporate level or the effective flow of goods and information from suppliers to end users.
Drawing on his extensive sales and marketing experience, Kosgalwies has concentrated his efforts on developing successful business models with strategic customers. As a core member of the task force leading ST’s move to broaden its customer base, he has also significantly contributed to that ongoing process. Throughout his career with ST, Kosgalwies has advocated the importance of converging the market needs and the internal structure of the company.
On November, 1st, 2004, Otto Kosgalwies was promoted to Corporate Vice President Company Infrastructure and Services (CIS). He is responsible for all ST worldwide activities related to Information Technologies, Logistics, Subcontracting and Material Management, with particular emphasis on the complete supply chain between customer demand, manufacturing execution, inventory management, supplier and manufacturing partner relations, to ensure that ST offers best in class services and financial performances to external and internal stakeholders. |
