COLLEGE: Oliver Hoyte started 10 games last year for the Wolfpack and finished second on the team with 99 tackles. He also added 12 tackles for losses, one sack and caused two fumbles. He led the team in tackles as a junior with 93 stops while posting 14.5 tackles behind the line - the ninth best total in school history at the time - and 1.5 sacks. Hoyte started 11 games during his sophomore season and finished second on the team with 97 stops, adding eight tackles behind the line of scrimmage as well. He played in 14 games as a true freshman totaling 51 tackles, three tackles for losses and one sack.
PERSONAL: Hoyte helped lead his team to a 5-A state championship as a senior at Chamberlain High School in Tampa, Fla., finishing the year with 153 tackles and five sacks. He was named The St. Petersburg Times' co-Player of the Year and earned the Coca-Cola Golden Helmet Award along with being a first-team all-state selection as a junior and senior and an all-conference choice for three years. He played in the Florida/Georgia All-Star game and the Hillsboro All-Star game at the conclusion of his prep career. Hoyte was a sports management major at North Carolina State. |
