Oliver is a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, having qualified in 1999. He has been with Milliman since April 2004. He previously worked as a principal consultant in the Actuarial and Insurance Management Services department of PricewaterhouseCoopers, and prior to that at Prudential Assurance Company in the UK. Oliver was elected a principal at Milliman in 2006.
Experience
While at PwC, Oliver was involved in a wide range of work, including advising on life company acquisitions in Europe and Japan, providing advice to lawyers and expert witnesses in a major court case, working with regulators in Slovenia with a view to gaining entry to the EU, and providing UK audit work on a number of mutual and proprietary companies.
At Milliman, Oliver has worked on a number of high-profile merger and acquisition projects involving high-level strategic advice, restructuring, due diligence, issue identification, and high-level modeling.
Oliver has worked as the primary contact on a number of independent expert assignments regarding the transfer and restructuring of with-profits, unit-linked, and non-profit blocks of business.
He has been engaged to provide guidance and assistance to clients on the production of their individual capital assessments for submission to the FSA. Oliver has also worked with UK regulators at the FSA producing high-level individual capital guidance for an insurance scheme.
