Norval has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors and is the company’s link between the two. In the public sector, while serving as Pennsylvania's Secretary of Commerce, he founded that state’s first Small Business Commission, founded its first Film Commission, and established trade offices in Japan, Europe, and South America. He was Chairman of the National Governors’ Association Task Force on Commerce, Transportation, and Technology and was appointed a delegate to White House Conferences by President Jimmy Carter (on Economic Development) and by former President George H. Bush (on Business Opportunities in Eastern Europe). In the private sector, Norval has served as Vice President of New Markets Development for Teleprompter; then the largest cable television company in the country, Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Group W Cable (Westinghouse); cofounder, chairman, and CEO of Polska Telewizja Kablova, the first cable television company in Poland; and President of Reece Communications, Inc., an advisory and investment firm in foreign media. Norval is on the board of directors of CablePac of the National Cable Television Association (NCTA) and has been a member of the NCTA Public Policy committee, which helped develop the cable television policies under which the industry operates. In 2000, Norval was elected to membership in Cable TV Pioneers and in 2001 was named a recipient of the NCTA Vanguard Award, the cable industry’s highest honor. |
