Ms. Shajahan conducts a variety of activities in support of client fulfillment and business development efforts. She conducts compliance program implementation and evaluations, performance audits, training sessions, and policy analyses for numerous health care organizations including, hospitals, health plans, long-term care facilities, specialty hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, as well as DME suppliers. She also assists clients in the analysis, development and implementation of policies and procedures necessary to achieve compliance with various regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare and Medicaid, and managed care. Ms. Shajahan leads various risk assessment and auditing and monitoring projects, including serving as the Project Manager for Medicaid marketing and enrollment process review engagements, managing claims review processes, conducting high risk area analysis and audits, such as provider credentialing. In addition to her consulting role, Ms. Shajahan provides regulatory research and analysis management for various ongoing client engagements, including the development of a model guide for Assessing and Prioritizing Risks for Auditing & Monitoring and other activities to ensure Compliance, specifically with regards to identifying hospital risk areas. Ms. Shajahan has been published in numerous industry and trade publications, such as the Journal of Health Care Compliance, HCCA's Compliance Today, and AIS HIPAA Security Compliance Guide. Furthermore, she has presented at national health care conferences such as the annual Pharmaceutical Regulatory and Compliance Congress. Ms. Shajahan has prior experience in project management, health education, and research coordination in health care settings both domestic and abroad, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Veteran's Administration Medical Center, State of Georgia Division of Public Health, and several university medical centers. Ms. Shajahan holds a Masters degree in Public Health from Emory University, with a focus in Health Policy and Management and a Bachelors degree from The University of Michigan. |
