Managing Modern Woodmen’s more than $7 billion in assets, Nick S. Coin, Rock Island, Ill., brings substantial investment experience and knowledge of the life insurance industry to his position on the board. A graduate of Northern Illinois University, Coin began his career with Modern Woodmen in 1968. He has held various positions in the organization’s investment department, including manager of the securities division. He was named to his current position as treasurer and investment manager in 2002, and he continues his duties in that office. Coin is president of the Association for Retarded Citizens Endowment Fund, and he serves on the endowment fund at St. George Greek Orthodox Church. He is a member of the Investment Analysts Society of Des Moines and is on the investment committees of the Rock Island Arsenal Golf Club and Community Foundation of Great River Bend. He is also a member of Quad City Development Finance Corporation and Downtown 2000, as well as past president of the National Fraternal Congress of America's Fraternal Investment Section.Coin and his wife Nancy live in Rock Island, Ill. They have two grown children and four grandchildren. |
