Mr. Reding is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nidus Center for Scientific Enterprise. Nidus Center, located in St. Louis, Missouri, is a business incubator for entrepreneurs focusing on Life Sciences. He is also Chairman of the Board of the Missouri Botanical Garden. Mr. Reding is the retired Chairman of The Keystone Center, located in Keystone, Colorado, and continues to serve on that board. The Keystone Center is a nonprofit organization that facilitates dispute resolution based on science leading to public policy. In addition, the Center offers programs in science education. Mr. Reding is a retired director of publicly traded companies International Multifoods Corporation, CPI Corporation, Meredith Corporation and Monsanto Company. He has previously served on the boards of Central Methodist University, the St. Louis Symphony, the St. Louis Zoo, Mary Institute/Country Day School, Children’s Hospital, University of Missouri at St. Louis, and Webster University.
Mr. Reding served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Monsanto Company, a St. Louis based manufacturer of pharmaceuticals, agricultural and food products, from 1992 until his retirement in 1998. From 1990 through 1992 he served as Executive Vice President of Monsanto, with responsibility for environment, safety, health and manufacturing operations. From 1986 until 1990, he served as President of Monsanto Agricultural Company, an operating unit of Monsanto Company. Mr. Reding joined Monsanto in 1956.
Born in Algona, Iowa, Mr. Reding received his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from Iowa State in 1956. He attended Stanford University as a participant in Monsanto’s Advanced Management Program in 1975. |
