Mr. DuBois is an associate in the Firm’s Litigation Group. He focuses his practice on intellectual property, commercial and appellate litigation, including patent infringement suits, as a registered patent attorney. He has significant experience in licensing and related transactions, particularly in the areas of software, data and telecommunications. A former programmer analyst at General Electric with bachelors’ degrees in math, natural and computer sciences, Mr. DuBois designed cost-control, advertising and tax software, including programs to help implement the federal Consent Order governing the Divestiture of AT&T in the mid-1980s.He received his J.D. from Georgetown Law Center in 1992. While there, he participated in the Department of Justice’s appellate advocacy program training U.S. assistant district attorneys and the school’s first criminal moot court team. After joining noted firms in New Jersey and New York, he has handled numerous multi-million dollar commercial and IP disputes. Mr. DuBois is particularly interested in law and technology, legal ethics, mentoring upcoming lawyers and providing pro bono services. Mr. DuBois is active as a master in the American Inns of Court where he presents case studies on ethics, trial techniques, and leading edge legal issues with some of New Jersey’s most capable attorneys and jurists.Mr. DuBois is a long-term volunteer and legal advisor on family law and related matters for Project Self-Sufficiency, a bar-funded program providing pro bono counsel and job training, primarily to abused women, single mothers and displaced homemakers.During law school Mr. DuBois developed and presented X.400 & CCITT Communications Protocols, a technical training program for the Washington, D.C. based U.S. Telecommunications Training Institute targeting government ministers from developing nations in using technology to promote free enterprise and U.S. trade. |
