J. Nelson Wright joined Calypso® Medical in 2002, with more than 25 years of experience in building world-class teams to develop innovative medical products. Prior to joining Calypso® Medical, Mr. Wright was a consultant in the Parallax Group, where he advised start-up companies and early-stage investors in the medical device arena. Before that, he spent 15 years at Acuson in several key technical and management positions including Vice President, Advanced Development. While at Acuson, Mr. Wright was responsible for the Sequoia Project, which was chartered to develop a new generation of imaging technology for diagnostic ultrasound. Sequoia products have generated more than $2 billion in revenue and, in 1996, the Smithsonian acquired a Sequoia Ultrasound System as part of their permanent collection of significant medical technology. Mr. Wright holds bachelor and master of science degrees in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has been granted 28 patents. |
