Nelsimar received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University in 1999. His research was focused on the design and characterization of MEMS deformable mirrors and micro-valve arrays for adaptive optics and fluid flow control applications, respectively. During the last year of his doctorate program, he worked full-time asa design and test engineer with Iridigm Display Co. where he was responsible for the design and characterization of MEMS-based optical modulators (IMODsTM) used in reflective display applications. In 1999, he joined Coventor, Inc. as a MEMS applications engineer and was later promoted to applications engineering manager responsible for all pre-sales and post-sales technical activities to support MEMS commercial customers. In 2002, Nelsimar took the position of design and applications engineering director with Microfabrica, Inc., where he was responsible for the validation of EFABTM technology for MEMS applications, and for technical support to market entry plans and business development strategies. He returned to Coventor in 2003 to focus on the development of design methodologies for advanced MEMS applications and increase the value proposition of Coventor’s solution. In 2005, he joined Synopsys, Inc., where he was responsible for operations management with the design for manufacturing group. |
