Dr. Paton received his Ph.D. in poultry nutrition from the University of Kentucky in 2001. Neil obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Natal in South Africa. His M.S. degree focused on design and construction of modular controlled environment research facility and the validation of growth and heat loss models developed for broiler chickens. Following this, Neil worked in industry for an animal health company in their poultry business sector. While enrolled at the University of Kentucky, his Ph.D. modeled the transfer and movement of selenium in embryonated and hatching eggs. Neil has authored or co-authored more than 30 publications including scientific abstracts, invited talks and refereed publications.
Neil’s responsibilities at Akey include consulting on statistical design of research trials for internal and external customers and the coordination, statistical analysis and reporting of company NIR spectroscopy technology for North American Nutrition Companies.
Neil is a member of the American Society of Animal Science and the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists. |
