He Joined Birds Eye Foods on September 8, 2005, bringing over 27 years of domestic and international food industry marketing, sales and finance experience. He began his career in 1974 at Unilever Ltd., Lever Brothers in the U.K. and in 1981 joined General Foods, holding various positions in marketing. He later moved to Dallas as director of international marketing for PepsiCo Foods International, and in 1989, returned to the U.K. as a vice president for Smith Crisps, Ltd. His next career move was to Pizza Hut International where he provided marketing leadership to operating companies and franchisees in 72 countries. In 1993, he brought that expertise to Miller Brewing Co. as V.P. of marketing, in charge of all aspects of marketing mix for the $4.3 billion brewer. From 1997-2004, he worked for H.J. Heinz Co., first as president and CEO of Weight Watchers Gourmet Food Company and, in 1999 as senior vice president for H.J. Heinz Company and president and CEO of Heinz Frozen Food Company, responsibilities which included management of a $1.5 billion portfolio and 2,900 employees. He became executive vice president of Heinz, and president and CEO for the $3.7 billion North American region in 2002. |
