As chief administrative officer, Neil Barua leads the office of the CEO and Global Crossing's human resources department, ensuring close alignment across all functions within the company. In addition, he co-manages the Global Crossing Operational Performance (GCOP) unit overseeing all functional reviews, planning and performance metrics globally.
Mr. Barua previously led the significant turnarounds of Global Crossing's enterprise sales for the eastern region of North America, as well as its worldwide collaboration services business that focuses on the video, audio, Web and collaboration needs of conferencing customers globally.
Mr. Barua began his career with Global Crossing in 2000 at Asia Global Crossing based in Hong Kong, responsible for strategic development and corporate finance. He then served as chief of staff, playing an integral part in Global Crossing's restructuring efforts by providing critical policy decision-making and support for Global Crossing's CEO and leadership team. He then quickly moved to managing director of conferencing services for Europe and Asia based in London, England, bringing in several high-profile international videoconferencing customers.
Prior to joining Global Crossing, Mr. Barua was a New York City-based investment banker at Merrill Lynch in the firm's global telecommunications group and at UBS Warburg in its asset management division.
Mr. Barua holds a B.S. in economics and finance with a minor in political science from Stern School of Business at New York University. |
