Before joining Ryerson Tull in 1994, Novich was a director of Bain & Company, an international management consulting firm, where he founded and headed the company’s Distribution and Logistics Practice.
He graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard University with a B.A. degree in physics. He earned an M.S. degree in nuclear engineering from MIT and an M.S. in management from the Sloan School of Management at MIT. While at MIT Novich received a National Science Foundation scholarship and was a Ford Scholar.
Novich is a Director of W.W. Grainger, Inc. He also is a Trustee of the Field Museum of Natural History and the Children’s Home & Aid Society of Illinois, as well as a member of the Visiting Committee to the Division of Physical Sciences at the University of Chicago.
