Neal Walsh
Neal Walsh is an affiliated Senior Consultant with the Post-Merger Integration Planning Practice of Astute Diligence.
Neal is a seasoned business leader with a strong track record of initiating and overseeing successful corporate merger, acquisition and joint venture transactions.
Prior to joining Astute Diligence as an affiliated consultant, Neal was the Strategic Planning and Business Development Manager for the Refrigeration Operations of Carrier Corporation.
Neal led the business planning activities for this Carrier division, which comprised multiple business units around the world accounting for over $3 billion in annual revenues. In this capacity, Neal managed all aspects of the business unit's merger and acquisition activities, including assessing strategic fit, developing financial and strategic justification for purchase, negotiating price and terms, and directing due diligence. He also directed the preparation of the annual business plan for a $3 billion business.
In addition to these responsibilities, Neal managed the post-merger integration planning programs that ensured that Carrier's acquisitions were successfully absorbed into the company and that they achieved their business objectives. Representative transactions included the acquisition of a $1 million North American service center; the acquisition of a $10 million Swiss distributor; an $8 million joint venture in China with the industry leader in one of fastest growing markets for refrigeration equipment; and the merger and integration of a $600 million business.
Before joining Carrier's corporate development team, Neal was the Marketing Director for the North American Truck and Trailer Refrigeration business unit at Carrier. He managed market analysis, pricing, promotion and product development for this $200 million division. He also directed three product development teams, led a team that redesigned product development procedures to achieve numerous cost savings, and participated in key account selling teams that pursued sales opportunities with Carrier's large national accounts. Neal previously held various senior positions within this business unit and was responsible for implementing numerous initiatives that cumulatively resulted in increased revenues, market share, and profitability for Carrier.
Previously, Neal served as an engineering team leader for Sulzer Bingham Pumps.
Neal holds an MBA degree from the Yale University School of Management. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University. |
