The devastation left by Katrina was life-changing, leaving many employees homeless, shaken and in need. Under Nawzer’s leadership, the St. Charles team arranged to have gas, food and other necessities provided to employees on Dow’s premises three days after the hurricane. They also provided temporary housing trailers to employees who needed shelter. The trailer park was put into operation in less than a week, allowing all employees to report back 11 days after the hurricane. Within three to four weeks, all of Nawzer’s facilities were up and running. This remarkable display of courage and leadership in the face of adversity earned Nawzer the Office of the Chief Executive Award, Dow’s highest honor. |
