Nathaniel McQueen is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm’s Washington, D.C. office. As a member of the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department, Nathaniel focuses his practice on patent prosecution, and has had experience serving as a liaison between research and development and the patent department.
Prior to law school, Nathaniel received his M.S. and B.S. degrees in chemistry. He has technical knowledge of organic synthesis and physical chemistry.
Nathaniel was a research scientist in the pharmaceutical/consumer product eye care industry. As a researcher, he designed and synthesized novel chemical compounds for use in eye care products. He also gained experience in writing and editing patent applications, analyzing patentability issues and has obtained patents for several inventions.
Nathaniel is admitted to practice in Texas and Washington, D.C. and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of the American Chemical Society, the American Bar Association and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
