Mr. Plagens is Vice President of Desert Rock Energy Company, LLC and currently manages project development of the Desert Rock Energy Project, a 1,500 MW coal project on the Navajo Nation in northwest New Mexico. Mr. Plagens has 17 years experience in the power generation industry, including management roles in Project Development, Construction, Operations, and Acquisitions/Divestitures. Mr. Plagens most recently was in Operations at a Calpine Corporation cogeneration facility. Prior to Calpine, Mr. Plagens was President of NKP Services, a consulting firm providing environmental, engineering, and management consulting services. Mr. Plagens served as Manager, Environmental and Engineering for Duke Energy North America where he was responsible for managing the environmental/engineering of project development and acquisitions/divestitures of US and Canadian projects. Mr. Plagens was Manager of Northeast Region for The WCM Group, Inc where he was responsible for developing a regional environmental consulting practice and contracted to Cogen Technologies to support power plant development, construction, operations, and acquisitions/divestitures. Mr. Plagens holds a Bachelors in Agricultural Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Houston. |
