Nancy Clack is vice president for public policy and advocacy for Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA). As the leader of the PPFA Washington, DC, office, Ms.Clack oversees the three departments within the division Litigation and Law, Government Relations, and Field Operations all of which work collaboratively to provide strategic direction, technical assistance, and training to Planned Parenthood affiliates. Ms. Clack also directs the Planned Parenthood Action Fund and Planned Parenthood PAC. As a 501(c)(4) organization, the Action Fund provides leadership for nationwide grassroots organizing and electoral efforts that further the mission of Planned Parenthood.
Ms. Clack has more than 25 years’ experience in structuring messages and targeting audiences for voter contact activities. Her political experience includes work on more than 900 candidate and initiative campaigns throughout the United States, including those for Gov. Ann Richards, Cong. John Tierney, State Sen. Dede Alpert, State Rep. Ann Gannon, East Texas Community Action Network, Save Dade, League of Conservation Voters, Oracle Corporation, and PPFA.
Prior to coming to Planned Parenthood, Ms. Clack served as president of Precision Communications, a Maryland-based strategic communications company that designs and conducts communications programs for political campaigns, nonprofit organizations, and computer software corporations.
Ms. Clack’s expertise in developing strategic communication programs has earned her recognition in her field, and she has spoken often at campaign and candidate seminars in addition to being featured in newspaper and magazine articles.
She has served as a political party trainer for the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs and has conducted trainings in Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Swaziland, and Zambia.
Ms. Clack has been recognized by Campaigns & Elections magazine as one of the 74 Women Who are Changing the Face of Politics. She is a former board member of the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund and of the Women’s Campaign Fund. She is a Maryland native and holds a BS in journalism from the University of Maryland. |
