Ms. Gray was born in Dallas, Texas and grew up in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. She graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas. She began her banking career in 1971 with First City Bank in Dallas as an accountant. In 1980, she joined First RepublicBank Oak Cliff as Vice President and Controller. Ms. Gray was promoted to Senior Vice President and CFO/Controller in 1982. She served as an inside director of First RepublicBank Oak Cliff from 1987 to 1988. In 1988, Ms. Gray continued her banking career at NCNB of Texas as a Senior Vice President and Business Line Controller for Mortgages, Credit Cards, Student Loans, Asset Based Lending, Middle Market, Trust and Private Banking. She oversaw financial reporting and strategy planning for the various units. After the merger of NCNB and C&S to form NationsBank in 1992, Ms. Gray was transferred to Atlanta, Georgia as Senior Vice President and Executive Financial Manager for the Private Client Group for which she developed nationwide financial reporting and strategies. Ms. Gray assumed the role of Senior Vice President and Executive Financial Manager for Bank of America Private Bank West located in Los Angeles during 1999. On May 1, 2002, Ms. Gray joined Pacific Mercantile Bank, headquartered in Costa Mesa, California, as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
