Nanci Wilson is CBS 42’s award-winning investigative journalist. Among her many honors, she won the prestigious National Journalism Award by the Scripps Howard Foundation and the Edward R. Murrow Award for Investigative Reporting, by the Radio and Television News Directors Association. Her work has also been nominated for an Emmy award in investigative reporting. Nanci was awarded a Knight Science Journalism Fellowship to study clinical data and evidence-based medicine at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in Cambridge, MA. She was one of few journalists invited to participate in the National Judicial College’s course, Media and the Courts. She began her career as an anchor at KXII-TV in Sherman, Texas. From there she was co-executive producer and anchor of Texas Entertainment News, a statewide syndicated program. She went on to work for CBS.com, The News of Texas and KVUE-TV. In addition to broadcasting, she has written for Redbook Magazine and several industry publications. Wilson currently serves on the Board of Directors for Criminal Justice Journalists and is a member of Investigative Reporters and Editors. She is frequently invited to speak on issues relating to in-depth news coverage, Internet research and media training. She holds a patent for a product designed to organize reporters and developed ‘The Disaster Plan,’ a guide for newsrooms for responding during a disaster. Nanci is part of CBS 42 Investigates to protect the consumer, to provide a voice to the voiceless and to hold our government and the powerful accountable to the people they serve. |
