Dr. Muhammad B. Zaman is board certified in cytopathology, anatomic pathology and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology. He received his M.B., B.S. degree from King Edward Medical College, Lahore, Pakistan in 1970 and his M.D. from the University of the State of New York. After graduating from King Edward Medical College, Dr. Zaman completed a rotating internship at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in Bronx, New York, and then completed his pathology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital and City Hospital Center in Elmhurst, New York, where he also served as Chief Resident. Following his residency, Dr. Zaman completed a fellowship in cytology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Subsequently, he served as an Assistant Attending and Associate Attending Pathologist for Cytology Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center from 1976 to 1991 as well as an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Associate Professor of Clinical Pathology at Cornell University Medical College. Most recently, Dr. Zaman was an Attending Pathologist and the Director of Cytology for Westchester Medical Center and a Professor of Clinical Pathology at New York Medical College. He is currently Consulting Pathologist for Cytology Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Zaman was Director of Pathology Residency and Cytopathology Fellowship Training at Westchester Medical Center New York Medical College for the past 12 years. Dr. Zaman published 34 articles as well as eight reviews and book chapters related to pathology. He has completed three major illustrated chapters for the fifth edition of Koss’ Diagnostic Cytology and Its Histopathologic Bases, which was published in 2006 and edited by Leopold Koss and Myron R. Melamed. Dr. Zaman is active in teaching cytopathology in national and international conferences. He specializes in FNA interpretation of all superficial and deep-seated organs. Dr. Zaman is a fellow of the College of American Pathologists and a member of the American Society of Cytopathology, the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, the New York State Society of Pathology, the New York Pathological Society, the Westchester Society of Pathologists and the Memorial Hospital Alumni Society. |
