Motohiko Hirayama joined LE in 2002, as the Japan Country Director to oversee expansion into the Japanese market and technology coordination. Hirayama was born and raised in Japan, and has more than 30 years experience in the US, Brazil and Japan technology business. Motohiko has worked primarily in the automotive market where he worked for General Motors and Delphi Automotive.Hirayama has served in a variety of positions. As General Manager of Purchasing Activities in Japan for GM Corporation, Motohiko was in charge of overseas component activities including establishing joint ventures, sales and purchasing. As Customer Director for Delphi Automotive, Hirayama was instrumental in establishing several million dollars in sales of Delphi systems and components for Toyota worldwide operations. As General Manager of Asia Pacific Chassis business for General Motors Automotive Components Group, later identified as Delphi, Hirayama handled chassis components business development. As Senior Purchasing Agent for Delco Electronics Division, Hirayama oversaw international purchasing for high technology systems and components for GM vehicles. Motohiko has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the KEIO University, Tokyo, attended KEIO Graduate School of Economics Tokyo and Johns Hopkins Advanced International Studies in Washington D.C. |
