Morgan Poliquin is a British Columbia Registered Professional Engineer and a 1994 graduate of the UBC geological engineering program. He earned his Masters of Science in Geology at the University of Auckland, studying geothermal systems and epithermal gold deposits and his thesis work took him to the Emperor Gold Mine in Fiji.
In 1996, Morgan came to work with his father at Almaden, and since 2000 Morgan planned, instituted, managed and personally led a country-wide helicopter-borne exploration programs for Almaden. Morgan has also managed joint ventures between Almaden and BHP Billiton World Exploration Ltd. for copper and gold and with Japan Oil Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) for base metals in Mexico, resulting in the discovery and staking of numerous new mineral showings.
He is the senior geological engineer and a director of Almaden Minerals Ltd. Morgan is fluent in the geology and mechanisms of working in Mexico and continues to oversee and direct the company's exploration programs there. |
