Mr. Shapiro is chairman of the firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology practice group and is a principal in the Northern Virginia office. His practice includes all aspects of patent acquisition in the United States and abroad, as well as patent enforcement. Representing both corporations and individual inventors, Mr. Shapiro has obtained hundreds of U.S. and foreign patents covering inventions in electrical, mechanical, optical, chemical and other technologies. Prior to entering the legal profession, he worked in industry as an electrical engineer.
