Mitchell Rivers is a native of Chesterfiled, South Carolina and is a graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, GA. He has been involved in funeral service since 1978. Formerly of Spartanburg, SC, he has lived in Aiken since 1990 and was a former vice-president and general manager of George Funeral Homes during the early to mid 90's. He established Rivers Funeral Home in 1997 which merged with Shellhouse Funeral Home on January 1, 2003. Mitch is the father of three, a daughter; Sydney, and two sons; Campbell and Clark, they are members of St. John's United Methodist Church. He formerly served on the executive committee of the South Carolina Funeral Directors Association and has also served on the Board of Directors of The Greater Aiken Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Aiken County. |
