Dr. Mitch Cherniack has been an educator at various levels for over 20 years. Since 1999, he has been on the faculty of Brandeis University where he is currently an Associate Professor of Computer Science. Previously, Cherniack was a high school teacher in Montreal, and before that, an elementary school teacher in a remote coastal village in Labrador, Canada. Cherniack has published numerous research papers in Database Systems, and specifically, in the areas of Query Optimization, Profile-Driven Data Management and Stream Processing Systems. He was the winner of the prestigious CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation, and has served on numerous database conference program committees and review panels. He received a Bachelors degree in Education from McGill University, a Masters in Computer Science from Concordia University and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Brown University |
