Mr. White joined Abbott in 1984 and was named chief executive in 1998 and became chairman of the board in 1999.
In addition to his responsibilities at Abbott, Mr. White serves on the boards of directors of the Tribune Company and Motorola. He is chairman of the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago; chairman of the Economic Club of Chicago; chairman of the board of trustees of the Field Museum; and a trustee of Northwestern University and the Culver Educational Foundation.
Mr. White earned both a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in business administration from Stanford University. |
