A member of the CHP board of trustees and Corporate Member since 1997, Sister Mildred Ely, HM, assumed the role of vice chair in 1999 and the position of chair in 2004 - 2006. She also served as vice chair of the Corporate Member from 2001 - 2004. Sister Mildred was general treasurer and councilor of the Sisters of the Humility of Mary from 1993 - 2001. From 1978 - 1995, she served St. Joseph Riverside Hospital in Warren, Ohio, first as an administrative assistant, then as assistant administrator and, from 1983 - 1995, as president and chief executive officer. She began her healthcare career in 1969 at St. Joseph Hospital and Health Center in Lorain, Ohio, and served there until 1976, first as a staff pharmacist and then as assistant director of Pharmacy.
Sister Mildred earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Duquesne University and an M.H.A. in hospital and healthcare administration from St. Louis University. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She also is a member of the St. Louis University Hospital and Health Care Alumni Association and the Duquesne University Alumni Association, was a member of the charter class of Leadership Warren and served as vice president, Selection of Leadership Mahoning Valley. In addition, Sister Mildred is a member of the Youngstown Diocesan Foundation Advisory Board and the Catholic Charities Advisory Board, Youngstown Diocese. |
