Michael Williams, Executive Vice-President, Human Resources & Communications, is responsible for leading the human resources team to optimize organizational effectiveness, and the communications team to enhance TransAlta’s corporate reputation.
Prior to joining TransAlta in 2002, Mr. Williams was Vice-President for Lucent Europe. During his career, he has held a number of positions including Senior Director of Human Resources at Cisco Systems in California and the United Kingdom; Global Vice-President, Human Resources at Newbridge Networks in Ottawa; and Director of Human Resources with National Semiconductor. Mr. Williams has over 25 years experience covering all aspects of Human Resources.
Mr. Williams has a master of human resources management from the University of Aston in Birmingham, England.
Mr. Williams is currently a member of the Board of Governors of Hull Child and Family Services, where he also chairs the resource development committee. |
