Mike Sposato serves as the General Counsel and Secretary of Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation and has responsibility for managing the legal affairs of all entities within the Financial Products Division. This responsibility includes all the affiliates of Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation, Caterpillar Insurance Services Corporation and its affiliates, Caterpillar Redistribution Services Inc. and Caterpillar Power Ventures Corporation and its affiliates.
Mike was appointed to his current position in 2005. Mike began his career with Caterpillar in 1994 at Solar Turbines where he provided legal support to the purchasing and engineering groups. In 1996, Mike was promoted to manage the legal affairs of Solar Turbines Europe and moved to Gosselies Belgium. After four years in Belgium, Mike joined FPD first as a lawyer providing legal support to the Power Ventures group and then as a Managing Attorney with responsibility for overseeing legal support for Global, Human Resources, Power Ventures and Power Finance. In 2002, Mike moved to Peterborough, England to serve as the Associate General Counsel of Caterpillar Inc. with responsibility for managing the legal services section for the United Kingdom. Mike held that position until returning to FPD in his present role.
Mike holds a bachelor's degree in foreign service and a Juris Doctorate, both from Georgetown University. Prior to joining Caterpillar, Mike was a lawyer with the Philadelphia-based firm of Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll. |
