Mike attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for three years from 1970 to 1973 taking courses in AERO Engineering. He started working for Camrich Drilling in 1974 as a floorhand and by 1978 had worked his way up to Toolpusher. At that time he went to work for UNOCAL as a Drilling Foreman in their California operations. In 1982, Mike went to work for Husky Oil and Gas as a Drilling Supervisor in their Santa Maria Operations. Mike then started his own business and worked as a Drilling Consultant for the industry for most of 1984. He then joined Coastal Oil & Gas as a Drilling Foreman and subsequently came to Kenai in May of 1987. He has worked at Kenai in various capacities now for the last 11 years and is currently Kenai's Operations Manager, responsible for all of our day to day operations. In that capacity, Mike worked for over a year as Project Manager for the Venoco Platform Holly project. As such, Mike directly managed the design, construction, and installation of an 18,000 foot drilling rig on Platform Holly in the Santa Barbara Channel. Mike brings with him over 33 years of drilling experience in every aspect of drilling operations. |
