Mike O’Donnell, in his 13th year with the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim, is the senior vice president and general manager for Anaheim Arena Management, LLC. O’Donnell’s career in public facilities, professional sports and arena management has spanned more than 20 years. Along the way he has been associated with numerous successful ventures, events and professional sports teams.
O’Donnell’s tenure with the Arrowhead Pond began in early 1993. Prior to the opening of the arena, he was hired as the point person for the final phases of design and construction and assisted in preparing the arena for it’s opening and daily operation. During his first 10 years with the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim, he held the titles of Operations Manager, Director of Operations, and Assistant General Manager. In addition to his arena management responsibilities, his professional sports duties have included serving as the Director of Operations for the Anaheim Splash, a professional indoor soccer team and as Co-Governor of the Anaheim Storm, a professional indoor lacrosse team.
In 2003, the management contract for the arena was purchased by Anaheim Arena Management, LLC; and O’Donnell was named Vice president and Chief Operating Officer of both the company and the arena. Promoted to his current role in June of 2005, he is responsible for booking events and overseeing the operation of the arena.
Prior to coming to the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim, O’Donnell worked at the Great Western Forum, then home to the National Basketball Association’s Los Angeles Lakers and the National Hockey League’s Los Angeles Kings.
O’Donnell is married and lives in Yorba Linda with his wife, Payge. A graduate of California State University, Los Angeles, he holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Science. In his free time, he enjoys singing and writing music, fly-fishing and playing golf. |
