Mike Morgan is vice president of International Affairs for Sempra Energy, a San Diego-based Fortune 500 energy services holding company whose subsidiaries provide electricity, natural gas and value-added products and services. The Sempra Energy companies' 13,500 employees serve 29 million consumers worldwide. In his current job, he is responsible for managing the company’s external affairs outside the United States. Before that, Morgan was vice president, special projects, for Sempra LNG, managing external affairs for the company’s Mexico operations. Morgan joined Sempra Energy in 2000 as a vice president in Sempra Energy’s international division. Prior to joining Sempra Energy, Morgan was vice president, Latin America, for Unocal from 1996 to 2000. From 1978 to 1996, he served in officer and consulting roles with Tenneco, Royal Dutch Shell and Enron International. Morgan began his professional career as a geologist with Gulf Oil. He graduated from the University of Texas, Austin, with a bachelor’s degree in geological engineering. |
