Mike Meadors is the Manager of Alyeska’s Ship Escort Response Vessel System (SERVS) in Valdez. SERVS is the largest oil spill prevention and response organization in the world and is responsible for preventing and responding to oil spills in Alaska's Prince William Sound.
Mike has worked for Alyeska Pipeline Service Company since he moved to Alaska from Bakersfield, CA in 1991. Before moving to Alaska, Meadors worked on offshore construction projects in California, Brazil, Venezuela and the Gulf of Mexico.
Prior to his current position, Meadors served as the Valdez Marine Terminal Operations Advisor. His primary responsibility in that role was to support the Terminal Manager and his team with safely operating and maintaining the terminal.
Mike stepped up as the Acting SERVS Manager in May 2005. He was later named as the SERVS Manager in September 2005.
Away from work, Mike and his wife Laura enjoy exploring Prince William Sound in their boat. During the winter they cross-country ski and snowshoe with their two golden retrievers Ruby and Murphy. |
