A 13-year NBA staff veteran, Mike McNeive begins his fourth season with the Hawks and first year as Director of Basketball Operations. His responsibilities include oversight of the Hawks’ pro, college, minor league and international scouting. McNeive has served as Director of Pro Personnel the last two seasons, after originally joining the franchise as an assistant coach during the 2003-04 campaign. He worked the previous five seasons in Milwaukee, where he served as a scout/assistant. During his stint, the Bucks reached the playoffs four times, punctuated by a Central Division championship and a trip to the Eastern Conference finals in 2001. Prior to that, McNeive was with the Seattle Sonics for four seasons as a video coordinator/advanced scout. Seattle recorded a 239-89 mark during that time, won three Pacific Division titles and advanced to the NBA Finals in 1996 after winning a franchise-record 64 games. McNeive got his start in the NBA with the Orlando Magic, where he interned in the video scouting department in 1993-94, as the club reached the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. A Freeport, Illinois native, McNeive received his undergraduate degree in Physical Education in 1992 from Monmouth College (IL), where he was a four-year letterman in both basketball and baseball for the Fighting Scots. In 1993, he received his Masters Degree in Sports Management and Administration from Georgia Southern University. Mike and his wife Maggie have three children, Ryan, Ally and Danny.
