Mike Maulden is Entergy Arkansas’ director of external affairs.
He is responsible for directing Entergy’s Office of Economic Development, a program that is focused on recruiting new businesses to Arkansas and assisting communities in developing themselves into places that are attractive to potential new businesses.
In 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006 the program was recognized as one of the top utility economic development initiatives in the North America by Site Selection magazine. Maulden has been active in the creation of regional economic development initiatives such as the Metro Little Rock Alliance; a regional economic development initiative covering eleven central Arkansas counties.
Maulden serves as Chairman of the Little Rock Port Authority and serves on the boards of the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce, Accelerate Arkansas, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Foundation and the St. Vincent Medical Center Foundation. Previously he served as inaugural chairman of the Regional Economic Development Council of the Mid-South; a tri-state economic development council formed to enhance the economic development coordination of western TN, northern MS and eastern AR and as President of the Arkansas Economic Developers association.
In 1998, Maulden was selected as one of Arkansas’ rising young business leaders by Arkansas Business in its annual 40 under 40 list. In 2003, he was presented the Distinguished Leadership Award by the Leadership Greater Little Rock alumni association. In 2004, Maulden served as the chairman of the Committee for Amendment 2 which allows the Arkansas General Assembly to issue general obligation bonds to fund super project infrastructure needs. Lastly, he was selected as the 2004 Outstanding Economic Developer for Arkansas by the Arkansas Economic Developers association. |
