Mike Hatchell heads the Firm's appellate practice group. During his forty-year legal career, he has been lead counsel in over 150 appeals. He has argued thirty-eight appeals or original proceedings in the Supreme Court of Texas, has argued en banc to the federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals twice, and has appeared in all fourteen courts of appeal in Texas. Mr. Hatchell was recognized by Texas Monthly magazine as one of the top five appellate lawyers in Texas and three times as one of the top 100 Texas Super Lawyers by Texas Lawyer Magazine. He is also one of 300 elected members of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. Mr. Hatchell serves on the Texas Supreme Court Advisory Committee and is a highly-rated lecturer on a variety of appellate issues and developing Texas law.
