Dr. Caligiuri is The John L. Marakas Nationwide Insurance Enterprise Foundation Chair in Cancer Research and also Professor for the Departments of Internal Medicine and Molecular Virology, Immunology, and Medical Genetics at The Ohio State University School of Medicine and Public Health in Columbus, Ohio, USA. Dr. Caligiuri is Director, Division of Hematology and Oncology, and Director at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Caligiuri received his medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine in Palo Alto, California. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Caligiuri then completed a fellowship in medical oncology and bone marrow transplantation at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Caligiuri’s research focuses on the biology and therapeutic potential of natural killer cells, biologic response modifiers in lymphoma, and the molecular biology and genetics of leukemia. Dr. Caligiuri has authored or co-authored more than 130 scientific publications. He serves as journal referee for 20 different journals and is on the editorial boards of Blood, Cancer Research, Blood Reviews and Molecular Cancer Therapeutics. |
